 About Lingnan Alumni Association

 

 Regional Alumni Organization

In November 25, 2006, the first local college alumni associations of Lingnan——Shenzhen Alumni Association of Lingnan (University) College,Sun Yat-sen University was set up in Shenzhen. Honorary President of the association is Mr. Chen Yingchun, vice mayor of Shenzhen. All members of the association are also active talents in business. The existing number of members registered is 580, which makes Shenzhen Alumni Association of Lingnan (University) College the largest local alumni organization. Since the founding of the Shenzhen Alumni Association of Lingnan (University) College, one or two large financial forums have been held each year, as well as casual tourism, and recreational activities such as sports competitions.

Relations with the Lingnan University Alumni Association

The establishment of the Lingnan (University)College in 1989 is promoted by Lingnan University alumni to commemorate Lingnan University, which was established in 1911 at the same address. Therefore, Lingnan University alumni and Lingnan (University) College alumni are known as the Lingnan alumni. Over the century the concept of "Lingnan family" has been advocated by the Lingnan Alumni. 18 alumni associations of Lingnan University located in various parts of the world enthusiastically accepted Lingnan (University) College graduates. Alumni of Lingnan (University) College at the same time welcomed lots of aged seniors.

Guangzhou Lingnan University Alumni Association was established on August 24, 1980, and the location of the Alumni Association is the former site of the Lingnan University Hong Lok Yuen, and now the Sun Yat-sen University. In 1989, Lingnan (University) College was established, Lingnan University Alumni Association moved into the building of Lingnan (University) College. There is nearly a thousand Alumni of Lingnan University in Guangzhou. The patriotism, unity, and enterprising spirit of senior alumni has been deeply impacting on teachers and students in the college.

 

Alumni Organization of Programs

--Lingnan MBA Alumni Association of Sun Yat-sen University (LMAAS)

Lingnan MBA Alumni Association of Sun Yat-sen University (LMAAS) was established on December 20, 2008. The members of the first president committee of MBA Alumni Association are: president Wu Yunfei, vice-president SHE Zhiyong, V.P Wu Guofei, V.P. XU Junhui, Secretary-General ZENG Guang, Deputy Secretary-General Hu Haibo, Deputy Secretary-General XU Xiaoyang. The Alumni Association has permanent functional departments for day-to-day operation, including the Secretariat, the Department of Member Activities, and the Department of Public Service.

--Lingnan EMBA Alumni Association of Sun Yat-sen University

Lingnan EMBA Alumni Association of Sun Yat-sen University was founded in March 2006. After that, alumni set up local alumni organizations at many places. Chaoshan EMBA Alumni Association of Lingnan (University) College was established in September 2006, which had 23 members in total. Dongguan EMBA Alumni Association of Lingnan (University) College was established in February 2008, with a total of 74 members. Foshan EMBA Alumni Association of Lingnan (University) College was established in February 2008, with a total of 55 members. Shenzhen EMBA Alumni Association of Lingnan (University) College was established in March 2008, with a total of 47 members. Guangzhou EMBA Alumni Association of Lingnan (University) College was established in January 2009, which has a total of 118 members.

--Lingnan CHEMBA Alumni Association of Sun Yat-sen University

CHEMBA program (China Executive MBA) was a cooperative program between Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota and Lingnan (University) College, Sun Yat-sen University. Approved by the University of Minnesota Alumni Association, Guangzhou Alumni Association of the University of Minnesota was formally established on November 18, 2005. Members of Lingnan CHEMBA Alumni Association of Sun Yat-sen University are also members of Lingnan EMBA Alumni Association, who can participate regularly in the college-rich learning and exchange activities.
