The European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) is a school accreditation system run by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD).Through accreditation, it evaluates the quality of higher education institutions of management and business administration, as a way to boost the development of education. Famous for its strictness and inclusiveness, EQUIS is the most stringent accreditation system, as well as one of the three most authoritative international accreditation systems in the world.

As an international accreditation system for business school education, EQUIS has a rigorous evaluation process, which requires not only high quality education and research, but also highly internationalized student body, faculty, and corporative connections. It also requires well-organized teaching plans, and evaluates teaching results against them. A strong interface with the world of business and internationalization of education are the two cores of the EQUIS accreditation system.
